Vice President Kamala Harris visiting Houston Monday

The visit is part of the 'On the Road' series by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

HOUSTON — On Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff were in Houston where they met with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. 

Attendees included U.S. Rep Sylvia Garcia of Houston and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

They talked about healthcare and other key issues. 

It's part of the caucus' "On the Road" series, where they share tools and resources the White House has made available to the Hispanic community.

While Harris was inside the Hardy Senior Center for the caucus meeting, protesters outside calling for a permanent ceasefire in the Middle East,

While in town, the vice president also participated in a campaign reception.
