HCSO: 2 toddlers, woman injured after being hit by vehicle while crossing the street in Katy

The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

KATY, Texas — Two toddlers and a woman were injured after being hit by a vehicle in Katy Saturday night, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

It happened on Imperial Landing Lane near Clay Road. Gonzalez said a woman was crossing the street and towing two toddlers in a small wagon when they were hit.

The two toddlers, a 2-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy were transported to the hospital by Life Flight. They are expected to survive.

The woman was transported by ambulance with a possible broken bone and also expected to survive.

The woman was able to push the toddlers and herself away at the last minute, which Gonzalez said minimized the impact of the hit.

Gonzalez said they believe the woman is the children's nanny.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene. He said the driver didn't show any signs of impairment, but it does appear speeding was a factor.

At this time, it is unknown if the driver will face any charges.

Editor's note: Sheriff Gonzalez originally posted that one toddler was hit. In a follow-up post, he updated it to two toddlers and a woman hit.
