Craigslist seller dragged by driver trying to steal iPhone, San Antonio police say

He just wanted to sell his iPhone, but the perspective "buyers" apparently had other ideas. Instead of handing over cash, they attempted to drive off with the victim's phone, police said.

SAN ANTONIO -- A 30-year old woman was arrested Sunday for allegedly trying to steal a man's iPhone.

According to the suspect's arrest warrant, Michelle Sherrod and a male friend were meeting up with the victim after answering his Craigslist ad to sell his phone.

Sherrod and a male friend met up with the victim in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on the city's northeast side.

The victim said he was showing the couple the phone while they sat in a car. At one point the victim said the female driver grabbed his hand and phone and drove off. He was dragged a few feet before he was able to pull himself free. He still had the phone but he said the thieves took off with his car keys.

The victim and a witness picked Sherrod out of a photo lineup and identified her as the woman driving the car, according to the arrest warrant.

Sherrod was arrested Sunday and is currently being held in the Bexar County Jail.
