SUGAR LAND, Texas - A new Park and Ride service began operating in Sugar Land Tuesday.

The service shuttles people from two different locations in Sugar Land to the Texas Medical Center.

People can pick up the bus at 14000 University Boulevard and 3300 Town Center.

Commuters can use the service for free this week, but commuters will have to pay $7 for a round trip beginning on Monday.

"I'm hoping to some money on gas and maybe a little bit of the stress of commuting," said Sam McClanahan, who is taking advantage of the service.

"This is a wonderful way to not put my car on the road and just save some money direct to the medical center," said fellow commuter Angie Lavespere.

The transit service will provide a non-stop trip to the Medical Center.

The buses will have four scheduled stops throughout the area once they arrive at the Medical Center.
