HOUSTON - A leaky water main is likely to blame for a sinkhole that sunk a City of Houston garbage truck Monday evening.

The trash truck got stuck when a part of Harold Street collapsed as the truck was pulling up to Mandell Street.

Neighbors said they’ve been calling 311 since last Thursday, complaining the street was leaking. Homes near the busted pipe have also had low water pressure since last week.

City workers put up barricades around the caved asphalt Monday evening. Harold Street near the Mandell Street intersection has been closed.
