Activist calls for investigation after man caught on camera spewing racial slurs at woman inside Stafford convenience store

The woman said the incident escalated after she beeped her horn at the man at a green light in Stafford.

A woman who claims she was verbally assaulted by a security guard is telling her story.

Video of the man using racial slurs has gone viral and a well-known activist is asking police to investigate.

Editor’s note: KHOU 11 has made the decision to blur the man’s face in the video because he has not been charged with a crime in the incident.

“He needs help,” Denishia Lewis said. “I may even need counseling.”

Lewis said she was driving along Airport Boulevard near the Southwest Freeway on Thursday when she honked her horn at a man on a motorcycle who wasn’t moving after a light turned green. She then went around him.

“He accelerates his gas, comes from the right lane and punches my rear mirror, uh the side mirror,” Lewis said.

She said she saw the man pull into a 7/11 convenience store and she pulled in next to him.

“I walked in. I said, ‘Excuse me, sir, did you just punch my mirror?’ He said, "F*** you, you n**** b****,'” Lewis said.

“Yeah she is a stupid n*****,” the man said on the video.

Lewis said she started recording on Snapchat, which stopped recording and didn’t capture the entire exchange.

In the video, the man, who we are not identifying, can be heard repeatedly using racial slurs. Lewis said before she left, the man spit on her.

“When I walked off, he then followed me, ‘Come here you n***** b****, come here you n***** b****,' and spit on me,” Lewis said.

She said she filed a report with the Stafford Police Department. The video has gone viral on Instagram and TikTok and activist Quanell X has stepped in.

“This man is a danger to society,” X said. “He’s already demonstrated he will commit a hate crime against an African American and use racist, hateful language on a female, spit on her, walking around with a gun.”

X claims the man works for the private group Verintegra Security and Investigations. The company issued a statement Saturday saying the man was a temporary employee and “we have had no contact with him since early August.”

The company posted the following statement to LinkedIn:

Recently a video was published containing reprehensible conduct by a security officer following a road rage incident. This officer, (KHOU has removed his name) was found to have photos on his Instagram wearing our uniform. (Redacted) only ever worked for us in a temporary capacity, and we have had no contact with him since early August when we decided to part ways.  This is clearly behavior that no person should support or tolerate, whether on the job or off it, in or out of uniform. We should strive to keep our interactions with others respectful, and as a company, we maintain strict policies of de-escalation, whether in a verbal or physical altercation. We feel for anyone who may have been negatively impacted by this man's behavior, and it is absolutely not representative of our company's ideals.

This statement by security company Priority Protection & Investigations was posted to Facebook:

We want to address a recent situation that has come to our attention. We understand that there have been concerns circulating regarding an ex-employee (redacted), who used to work for our company but has not been affiliated with us since 2021.

This (redacted) has been gaining attention on TikTok for making statements that are deeply troubling and racially insensitive. We want to be unequivocally clear: we do not condone or support any form of racism or harmful behavior, and we certainly do not align with the beliefs and actions of this former employee.

Our company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment. We believe in the importance of equality, diversity, and the fundamental principles of respect for all individuals, regardless of their background, race, or beliefs. We continually strive to uphold these values and remain dedicated to making positive contributions to our community and society as a whole.

Attached is a link to the TOPS website where (redacted) public security licensing is available to view, along with screenshots from the TOPS website. This information will show his current and past affiliations, to include his affiliation with Priority Protection that was terminated in 2021.

Lewis said she filed a report with the Stafford Police Department. They also want the Fort Bend County District Attorney to investigate.

"We want law enforcement to make those final conclusions, also a thorough investigation because we do believe he committed a hate crime,” X said.

KHOU 11’s Troy Kless made multiple attempts to reach the man in the video but has not received a response yet.
