HOUSTON – A man died in a fiery crash on the Eastex Freeway in northeast Houston overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened just after midnight early Tuesday when a witness saw a male in a Ford Explorer heading south on the Eastex lose control of his SUV just before the North Beltway.
The Explorer then hit the center barricade. The SUV then crossed all the main lanes and feeder lanes and crashed into a grassy area.
The SUV caught fire and the driver died inside.
Investigators said they do not know is if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
