'The community came together' | Neighbors were on high alert before man accused of stalking League City teen arrested

Victor Ferman is accused of stalking a teenage girl and threatening to shoot her and her family after connecting with her on Snapchat.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A man accused of stalking a teenage girl he met on a social media app was arrested Friday.

Victor Ferman, 20, was arrested at an apartment in Houston just three days after League City police announced they were looking for him. Police said Ferman was an "armed and dangerous" suspect who not only stalked the teenage girl but threatened to shoot her and her family. At one point, he even broke a window to the teen's bedroom window, police said.

Ferman and the teen never met in person but had interactions with each other via the social media app Snapchat. Police said Ferman knew where the teen lived because her location sharing was turned on in the app.

Neighbors like Emily Cutbirth and Nicholas Garcia said they were aware of the stalking and were on high alert.

"The community came together," Cutbirth said. "To think that somebody could come in here and not only disrupt that but like terrorize everyone here, it was horrifying."

"The threats were, you know, you got to take them seriously," Garcia said. "Especially when you're threatening somebody's life and, you know, family. It's scary."

Garcia said he's now able to rest at night knowing Ferman is in jail.

Ferman's bond was set at $80,000 Friday. We were told this case is still under investigation and there could be additional charges.
