Video shows home engulfed in flames north of downtown Houston | HFD says 2 injured

The extent of the injuries is unclear. No firefighters were reported injured.

HOUSTON — The Houston Fire Department battled a house fire that sent two people to an emergency room Wednesday morning.

HFD first posted about the fire on X, formerly Twitter, at 7:10 a.m. This happened on Freeman Street, which is near the intersection of Quitman Street and the North Freeway.

The extent of the injuries is unclear.

There have been no reports of injuries to firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but arson investigators say it's possible that lightning was a factor.

Video captured by a neighbor showed the home engulfed in flames. The house was destroyed.

This is a developing story that will be updated if/when more information becomes available.
