HOUSTON — The Houston Fire Department is kicking off its annual toy drive today!

HFD, with the help of businesses and community volunteers, is looking to give out toys to between 7,000 and 10,000 families this holiday season.

"We can reach that goal with help from the community and our generous sponsors like Shell Houston, Amegy Bank, Target, UNITS of Houston, and Latham & Watkins to name a few," HFD said in a news release.

UNITS of Houston will provide up to eight portable containers to use for collections.

The drive will kick off at 10 a.m. at Houston Fire Station 8, which is located at 1919 Louisiana Street.  The drive leads up to the "Great Toy Giveaway" on December 16.
