HOUSTON — A firefighter was injured Monday after authorities said they fell through the floor of a burning apartment complex in west Houston.
The firefighter was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.
According to the Houston Fire Department, the two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment complex off Richmond Avenue near Highway 6 around 2 p.m.
A mayday was called when the firefighter fell. Another woman was also taken to an area hospital for treatment and the extent of her injuries are unknown but she was conscious and alert, authorities said.
HFD said they were able to get everyone out of the building so they could stop the fire from spreading any more than it already had.
They're not sure what started the fire.
