HOUSTON – The Chevron Building downtown was evacuated due to a fire in the basement Wednesday morning.
According to the Houston Fire Department, it happened in the basement of the building located in the 1500 block of Louisiana Street.
Firefighters were able to contain it to that area. There was a danger that it could have spread to the downtown tunnel system, but it never got that far.
HFD said there were no reported injuries.
