The couple is charged with helping their daughter kidnap her son from Houston and taking him to Brazil. Chris Brann, the boy’s father, worried if the couple were granted bail, he would never see his son again.

Brann told KHOU 11 News earlier this week the Guimaraes have unlimited financial resources and has no doubt they would run. Brann’s Brazilian attorneys also have told him if he were to fly to Brazil again to see his son, he would be arrested by authorities there for allegedly owing child support in Brazil.
