HPD: Man shot multiple times in possible road rage on Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road

Police said the suspect got away in a black four-door sedan.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A man was shot multiple times Monday in a suspected road rage incident along the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road, Houston police said.

Initial reports were that the man, who police said was in his 20s, was driving southbound on the toll road when he was shot multiple times, including in his head, police said. The man drove about 10 to 12 blocks before he crashed into a barrier near W Fuqua and came to a stop, police said.

A witness noticed the wrecked vehicle and stopped to call 911. The man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Witnesses driving along the toll road at the time of the shooting described it as road rage and said the suspect's vehicle was a black four-door sedan.

Police are hoping Houston TranStar cameras can help them identify the suspect.

The southbound lanes of the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road between Beltway 8 and W Fuqua were closed for several hours while police investigated.
