HOUSTON – Houston Rocket Dwight Howard accidentally took a loaded gun into Bush Intercontinental Airport late last week.
He was going through a security checkpoint on Aug. 28 when a TSA agent spotted the gun in Howard's carry-on bag, according to HPD. It was a Glock 26. HPD didn't say if the gun was loaded overnight.
Howard said he forgot the gun was in the bag.
HPD was called. Officers called the Harris County District Attorney's Office and they declined to press charges.
A friend came to pick up the gun and Howard was allowed to board his flight.
TSA seized a record number of guns -- more than 2,000 -- at U.S. airports last year.
