Dogs poisoned at Friendswood kennel

Last Wednesday, the 14 dogs dropped off at a Friendswood kennel were let out into the play yard. Shortly after, an employee noticed tiny green pellets all over the yard.

Gimmie A Bark Dog Daycare owner Renee McLoughlin is still stunned and angry.

"I know a lot of people would like to rip them limb from limb. I mean, who would do this?" McLoughlin said.

Last Wednesday, the 14 dogs dropped off that morning were let out into the play yard. Shortly after, an employee noticed tiny green pellets all over the yard.

"They don't see green, and they don't see poison," McLoughlin said. "It was a buffet out there."

It was a deadly spread of rat poison. Someone had hurled it over into the dog daycare's play yard. Stephanie Prichard worried her two dogs had eaten the poison.

"It's devastating. I'm heartbroken, still am," Prichard said.

Every dog was rushed over to an animal hospital across the street. Vets induced vomiting to determine who had been poisoned. Four dogs had consumed large amounts of pellets. Luckily every dog survived.

"This is someone who's vindictive and evil," McLoughlin said.

Now the focus is squarely on catching who's responsible. A reward that started at $500 has ballooned to $5,500 for information leading to an arrest.

Word is spreading quickly around Friendswood. Everyone wants the person who tried to kill the precious pups caught.

"Just say something. Just help us," Prichard said. "It shouldn't happen to anybody's animal, much less anybody's business."

If you have any information about this crime, call Friendswood Police.
