HOUSTON — Houston police have identified the woman whose body was found on Tuesday dumped on the side of a highway on the northeast side.
Yadira Peña Castillo, 38, had been reported missing. She hadn't been seen since Feb. 18, according to HPD.
Investigators said Castillo's body was found Tuesday morning along Beaumont Highway just outside the 610 Loop. A passerby noticed the victim lying in a ditch and called 911. HFD paramedics responded and pronounced her dead.
According to investigators, there was no sign of trauma. An autopsy will be done to determine how she died.
HPD said they identified the victim through fingerprints.
