HOUSTON — Krysten Ritter, star of Netflix’s Marvel series “Jessica Jones”, joins “Defenders” co-star Charlie Cox as a headliner at Comicpalooza 2018.

Although Ritter began acting in 2001, it was her tragic portrayal of Jane Margolis in “Breaking Bad,” 2009-2010, that propelled her career.

Ritter held support roles in films like “She’s Out of My League” as well as starred in her own series “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” before landing the role of the detective turned superhero, “Jessica Jones.”

Alongside Ritter, Charlie Cox will also make his Houston debut at Comicpalooza. With a steady career in acting since 2002, Cox has appeared in roles like “Stardust,” “Downton Abbey,” and “Boardwalk Empire,” among others.

His breakthrough came in 2015 as the title role of Matt Murdoch in Netflix’s Marvel series “Daredevil”. His performance as the beloved comic book hero - a blind lawyer by day and vigilante by night - was met with praise by both critics and fans.

“We are thrilled to host these seasoned actors that represent beloved and complex heroes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as other defining roles. Adding Ritter and Cox also completes the Defenders lineup started at Comicpalooza 2017,” said Aimée McCurtain, Vice President of Marketing for Comicpalooza.

Rounding out the recently announced Marvel cast additions is Michael Chiklis, who played Ben Grimm or ‘The Thing’ in “Fantastic Four”

Chiklis is best known for his Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Vic Mackey in FX’s hit series “The Shield.”

Ritter, Cox and Chiklis will join an already elite lineup that includes Joe Manganiello, Patrick Warburton, Ray Park, Dante Basco, and David Faustino, among others.

Comicpalooza will return to the George R. Brown Convention Center, celebrating its 10th anniversary, on May 25-27. For the most-up-to-date information, including special guests, admission prices and schedules, visit www.comicpalooza.com.
