HUMBLE, Texas — Humble ISD honored its Teacher of the Year Friday night with a $10,000 surprise.
Autumn Creek Elementary School fourth grade teacher Jasmine Thomas received the money at the Humble ISD Education Foundation Boots and Bling Gala.
"I am so overwhelmed, I am so excited, this is such a big honor and it's one of those things where you go to work and you're giving 110% no matter what happens," Thomas said. "But to be recognized and looked at and honored and thanked, it means the world."
The runner-up Teacher of the Year received $5,000.
