74-year-old woman shot to death at assisted living facility in west Houston, police say

Houston police said they do not know of a motive and have not identified any suspects in the deadly shooting.

HOUSTON — A woman was shot and killed at an assisted living facility in west Houston Saturday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.

The victim was identified as Carol Webber, 74.

It happened at about 2:30 p.m. at a facility on Westerland Drive just north of Westheimer Road and east of South Gessner Road. Houston police said officers responded to a call of a deceased person at the facility and found Webber unresponsive on the floor of her apartment.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the coroner's report, Webber's death was ruled a homicide and she had been shot in her head.

Police are looking for the shooter and working to find the motive for the shooting.
