Wharton police find 100 kilos of cocaine worth an estimated $10M hidden in trailer

Authorities said the discovery was made as a part of a joint drug interdiction operation with the Wharton Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

WHARTON, Texas — The Wharton Police Department said a sergeant with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and his K-9 partner found 100 kilos of cocaine hidden in a heavy machinery trailer.

WPD said the cocaine had an estimated street value of $10 million.

Authorities said the discovery was made as a part of a joint drug interdiction operation with the Wharton Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

"We’d like to thank the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Thumann, K9 “Kolt,” Wharton PD Sergeant Justin Pannell, Wharton PD Officer Davon Ramirez, Texas DPS, and every other LEO agency that came out," Wharton police said on Facebook.
