14-year-old girl's adult boyfriend shot her relative during confrontation, HPD says

Police said the victim and another man went looking for a 14-year-old relative who was meeting up with her adult boyfriend when the shooting happened.

HOUSTON — A man is in serious condition after being shot when he confronted the adult boyfriend of a teenage relative, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened at 7 p.m. at Warren Park on Topping Street near Hirsch Road.

Houston police said two men went looking for a 14-year-old relative who they said was with a man. The age of the suspect was not provided by the police.

When the men found her with her adult boyfriend, an argument ensued. Police said the boyfriend then shot one of the relatives.

The boyfriend then ran, police said. The victim was in serious condition but is expected to survive.
