Texas City hotel employee shot during robbery dies; police looking for suspect

The suspect drove away in a white pickup truck. Police said he is a black man between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall.

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A hotel employee who was shot during a robbery in Texas City has died, police confirm.

Teresa Lynn Custer, 37, passed away Sunday at UTMB in Galveston.

Custer was working at Fairfield Inn Saturday when a robbery suspect shot her. She was taken to the hospital by Life Flight.

The suspect drove away in a white pickup truck. The Texas City Police Department said he is a black man between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall. His face was covered during the incident.
