CONROE, Texas — A homeowner engaged a pair of invaders in a shootout Friday night in Conroe, resulting in his own injuries and wounding an intruder in the process.

Investigators are still looking for a second home invader, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.

This happened Friday night on Leafy Meadow Lane in the Lone Star subdivision, where authorities say two men entered a home and tried to rob the residences at gunpoint. The homeowner exchanged gunfire with the robbers, the sheriff's office said.

By the time deputies arrived, the two possible suspects had left the scene but one was later found in the same neighborhood with an apparent gunshot wound.

Both the homeowner and the suspect were taken to local hospitals for treatment and listed in stable condition at last check.
