HOUSTON - A mother accused of drowning her two children and hiding their bodies under a neighbor's house was in front of a judge Thursday morning.

Sheborah Thomas remained quiet while having to be held up by her lawyer as he told the judge they were invoking her Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.

Thomas is charged with capital murder in the deaths of her 5-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.

No motive has been released but Houston police have reportedly been to her Third Ward home seven times since April for various reasons, including family disturbances and child custody issues.

Court documents from 2012 were filed by Child Protective Services when she lost custody of her children due to repeated drug use.

It is unclear when Thomas will appear again in court.
