HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was shot and killed Saturday at a family gathering near the Willowbrook-area.
Harris County deputies said during the gathering in the 10400 block of Hamlet Vale Court, there was a verbal confrontation with a man and teenage boy. At some point, the man allegedly grabbed a pistol.
Deputies said a struggle took place and that's when the man was shot in the chest.
“We don’t know whether the weapon dropped, or somebody grabbed it, or he tilted it up,” said Lt. Rush with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said 12 people were inside the house, including 5 juveniles, at the of the shooting.
Eight people were detained for questioning.
There is no word on any arrests.
