Gunman on the run after man found shot to death in driveway of Montgomery County home

The gunman has not been identified, but deputies said he left the scene of the shooting in a gray 2010 Pontiac sedan with dark, limousine tent on all of the windows.

PORTER, Texas — A gunman is on the run after shooting a man Wednesday in the driveway of a home in Porter, Texas.

The gunman has not been identified, but Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies said he left the scene of the shooting in a gray 2010 Pontiac sedan with dark, limousine tent on all of the windows and a red Pontiac emblem on the hood of the vehicle. See photo below.

The shooting happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Bitter Root Drive, which is just west of the Eastex Freeway.

Deputies believe the suspect and the victim got into some sort of altercation when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the 25-year-old victim multiple times. Bullet casings were scattered throughout the front yard.

First responders were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

The victim and shooter may have known each other, according to deputies. They also believe the victim lived in the area, but it's unknown whose house the victim was shot in front of.

Deputies are asking anyone who spots the suspect's vehicle or knows the vehicle's owner to call 936-760-5800, option 3, or call 911. You can also remain anonymous by calling 1-800-392-7867 and refer to case #23A323581.
