A man has been arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting during a house party in northeast Houston, police say.
According to the Houston Police Department, 20-year-old Isaiah Kain Salas-Martinez is charged with murder for his role in 23-year-old Cole Harrell's death on Dec. 17.
Police say Salas-Martinez drove to a home located in the 14900 block of Waterside View Court after getting a call from his drunk girlfriend. Upon arrival, police say a resident opened the door and saw the suspect holding a shotgun and semi-automatic pistol.
Witnesses say they attempted to disarm him when the gun went off, striking Harrell in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Salas-Martinez initially fled the scene with his girlfriend, but he later turned himself into police.
