HOUSTON – A man has been charged after police say he allegedly shot and killed a woman Saturday night who refused to let him use her cellphone.

According to the Houston Police Department, Dondrick Flagg, 29, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Tiffany McKnight, 29.

HPD Division said before the fatal shooting McKnight went to the store to grab some things for dinner. When she returned to her townhome, on the 2500 block of Reed Road, the suspect allegedly approached her and asked to use her cellphone.

Police said McKnight refused and that’s when a struggle began. The suspect fired several shots and the victim was struck two times, including once in the back, according to police.

McKnight was pronounced dead on scene.

Police said the suspect fled on foot and, during the chase, discarded a firearm. Flagg was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit and subsequently charged.
