Police searching for 3 gunmen after gas station clerk shot, killed near the Gulf Freeway, HPD says

Police said the store clerk, who was shot and killed, was apparently armed, but right now it’s unclear if he shot his weapon.

HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating a deadly shooting at a gas station off the Gulf Freeway early Wednesday.

A store clerk was killed and the search is on for his killers.

Police said they are trying to track down three men who shot and killed a store clerk at a Chevron gas station off Monroe and the Gulf Freeway.

This happened just before 1 a.m.

Police said it appeared three men pulled up in a car. One of the men allegedly walked into the store acting like he was going to buy something.

Officers said shortly after that, the two other men rushed inside and one of them started shooting, hitting the store clerk.

“There were no customers no. Actually, one of the individuals that called in was here and actually heard gunshots and called it in as hearing gunshots but he did see three,” HPD Lt. Wilkins said.

Investigators also said the store clerk, who was shot and killed, was apparently armed, but right now it’s unclear if he shot his weapon.
