3 hurt in shooting after neighbor complained about loud music at a birthday party in west Houston, police say

The three victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK, police said.

HOUSTON — Three people were hurt in a shooting early Sunday morning during a birthday party when a neighbor complained multiple times about loud music coming from the apartment, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened at an apartment complex on Winsome Lane, which is near Westheimer Road and Fountain View Drive, around 1:30 a.m.

Police said the man had asked the party to turn the music down multiple times. The third time he came over, he had a gun and pointed it at people, demanding they turn the music off.

A struggle ensued and the man fired the gun several times into the air before it was wrestled away from him. According to HPD, the man went back to his apartment and grabbed another gun before opening fire through the neighbor's door, hitting two men and grazing a woman. One of the men was hit in the body and the other in the legs. All three were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK.

Police could not give a description of the suspect but said he ran off.
