Man shoots 2 16-year-olds who beat and robbed him, Houston police say

HPD investigators say the victims and shooter were involved in an apparent drug deal and the juveniles attacked and robbed the 19-year-old.

HOUSTON — A 16-year-old is dead and another juvenile is injured after they were shot by a man they beat and robbed at a southwest Houston apartment complex Wednesday night, police say.

This happened at an apartment complex on Corporate Drive near the Sam Houston Tollway and Beechnut Street shortly before 11 p.m.

According to the Houston Police Department, The two 16-year-olds met with the 19-year-old for an apparent drug deal. Investigators say the juveniles beat him with brass knuckles and then robbed him. They ordered the guy to grab valuables from his apartment and hand them over.  

Instead, his mother, who was inside the apartment, handed him a gun. Police say he went back outside and the teens started threatening his mother so he shot them both. One died at the scene and the other was rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names haven't been released. 

The shooter was also taken to an area hospital for his injuries.

It's unclear whether the shooter will face any charges.
