Police searching for gunmen after man shot in his car near Third Ward

The victim is recovering at a nearby trauma center after police jumped into action to help him.

HOUSTON — Police are searching for the gunmen involved in a shooting near Third Ward early Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.

The victim is recovering at a nearby trauma center after police jumped into action to help him.

Police said the victim was shot multiple times while in his car just after midnight. Officers said he crashed the car at Arbor Street and Emancipation. Then he ran from the scene to a nearby club where he was found. That's when police said they immediately used a tourniquet to save the man until help arrived.

One lieutenant on the scene said there were several shell casings scattered near the apartment complex where he was shot. He said they had an idea what kind of car the shooter was possibly driving

“The only possible information we have on a possible suspect is an older model white Cadillac,” HPD Lt. JP Horelica said. “That is the only information we have at this time. So, if anybody saw anything and knows anything call Crime Stoppers.”

No word yet on who the shooters could be.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police if they saw or heard anything linked to this shooting.
