HOUSTON — A father and his son were shot after what police are describing as a road rage incident near NRG Park on Saturday.

The shooting happened just after 5:40 p.m. at Knight Road and West Bellfort.

It started on Bellfort, where one driver is believed to have cut the other one off before the situation escalated.

One driver in a Honda fired a couple of shots through the back of the truck where the two people were shot. That vehicle was actually full with a family - a father, mother and their three adult children.

The father, who was shot in the shoulder area, returned fire. His son was shot in the head but is expected to survive.

Police had not identified a suspect as of late Saturday night.
