It's only the 2nd murder case of 2024 in Pearland and police are trying to find out why it happened

Pearland police said the motive behind the shooting is unclear but road rage is a possibility.

PEARLAND, Texas — The Anderson family is leaning on each other in a very trying time.

"It’s so hard to know my husband ... I can’t speak to him anymore," Christina Anderson said.

Dominique Anderson’s widow and her family spoke about the father of two who loved music, road trips and cooking.

He was on his way home in the early morning hours last Friday when Pearland police said someone shot and killed him.

“The detective came to the door to let us know that Dominique was shot and killed,” Christina Anderson said.

It happened at 288 and Shadow Creek Parkway/McHard Road where police said surveillance cameras showed Dominique driving alongside a gold Cadillac sedan.

"And when they stopped, the person in the gold Cadillac put their arm out and fired one shot into the car, Killing my son," Dominique's mother, Tammy Anderson, said.

Dominique's car continued until he struck a light pole and tree about a quarter of a mile away. Body camera footage shared with us shows the initial police response. Unfortunately, Anderson was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Road rage is not being ruled out at this time.

"Motives are unknown," Pearland Police PIO Chad Rogers said. "We don’t know if these individuals knew each other. All we know is that on that night, a person lost their life to something we’re trying to figure out.”

Meanwhile, Anderson’s family plead for help finding justice.

“I mean, if you know something, just come out and say it,” Dominique's son, Aaron, said.

"Because we know somebody saw something. We know somebody heard something. And I know that it’s scary, but you can do it anonymously," Tammy Anderson said.

They're hopeful someone can possibly help solve only the second murder case in Pearland this year.

"If anybody knows anything, please, please come forward,” Christina Anderson said.

Anyone with information on this case should call Pearland Police or Brazoria County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-460-2222.
