Fight over car battery leads to man shooting his stepbrother with a crossbow in Crosby area, sheriff says

The injured man was taken to the hospital in critical condition by Life Flight.

An argument between two stepbrothers ended when one of them shot the other with a crossbow Wednesday night, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales.

Tim Lee Ehrlich has been charged with aggravated assault after he was accused of shooting his 52-year-old stepbrother with a crossbow, the sheriff said.

The sheriff said the man who fired the weapon told deputies he was scared that his brother was going to attack him first.

The sheriff said the fight started over a car battery at a home on Live Oak Drive in the Crosby area just before 9 p.m.

The victim was flown to the hospital in serious condition.
