CONROE, Texas — An investigation is underway after Conroe police shot and killed an assault suspect late Monday night, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon.
This happened just before midnight at a home in the Chapel Run subdivision. Conroe police said officers were responding to a call of a domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived at the scene, they said they could hear a woman screaming inside the home. They went into the home and said they found a man armed with a gun holding a woman in a headlock.
Officials said officers tried to de-escalate the situation and that's when the man allegedly pointed his gun at them. Both officers shot at the suspect.
The suspect died at the scene.
The officers and victim were not injured.
