There were nearly 2 dozen calls for service to the Lakewood shooter's home over the past 4 years, records show

Forty-nine pages of documents detail the calls for service to Genesse Moreno's home, which include harassment and threats.

CONROE, Texas — There were nearly two dozen calls for service to the Lakewood Church shooter's home over the past 4 years, records show.

The Conroe Police Department released the records to KHOU 11 on Wednesday after a records request was submitted.

Those calls for service range from noise disturbances to harassment, threats, loud music, welfare checks and information calls, police said.

Conroe police said a lot of the calls came from the shooter, Genesse Ivonne Moreno, but some came from her neighbors who've said they've reported on interactions with Moreno, but those reports fell on deaf ears.

The most recent call for service was last year, but police didn't say who made it.

When asked if they received any calls about swastikas, police said they did not know. Police also said when they responded to Moreno's house, "nothing relayed to officers would give authority to arrest or require mental health emergency detention, nor would any of the information have been an indication that the suspect would commit such a heinous crime."

The earliest of calls, which dates December 2019, includes calls from Moreno to police stating that her ex was harassing and stalking her by spoofing phone numbers to place calls and texts.

Police said there were no threatening messages found and it is unknown who sent them.

All of this happened while Moreno was allegedly dealing with child custody matters.

Several calls were from Moreno to police regarding her former mother-in-law wanting to file charges for alleged false allegations of child abuse.

She claimed harassment and that her mother-in-law somehow hacked her devices and email.

But again, police said there was no proof.

Roughly half-a-dozen calls from one neighbor about Moreno claimed harassment, threatening behavior and playing loud music.

In one of the reports, that neighbor told police Moreno sprayed her with a hose. Another neighbor reported that Moreno attempted to hit them with her car and threatened them.

Police tell KHOU 11 News they never caught Moreno with any weapons and none of these calls rose to the level of an arrest or emergency mental health hold.

The police department said all calls were handled "appropriately and according to law."

Conroe police said the Moreno lived on Gulfstream, just east of FM 1484 Road.

Lakewood Church shooting

Shots rang out Sunday at Lakewood Church, sending parishioners scrambling to safety.

A day later, Houston police confirmed the shooter was Moreno.

Moreno was wearing a trench coat and a backpack when she threatened an unarmed security guard with an AR-15 before entering Lakewood with her 7-year-old son on Sunday afternoon, according to police. She started shooting her AR-15 as soon as she walked inside the church. Two off-duty officers working an extra job at the church exchanged gunfire, shooting and killing Moreno.

During the gun battle, her son was shot in the head. At last check, he is still in critical condition. A 57-year-old man, an innocent bystander, was also shot in the leg. He was released from the hospital on Monday.

Here's a timeline of the events that led up to the shooting as well as what happened during the shooting itself.
