Chase ends with flipped car, arrest of 2 teens in Galveston Co.

The chase lasted for about 20 miles and reached speeds up to 115 mph with one teen suspect swerving and almost striking several patrol cars, deputies said.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas — A chase ended Thursday with a flipped car and two arrests of teens allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting in La Marque.

Galveston County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting surveillance on 17-year-old Isaac Brown and 19-year-old Cameron Tucker. They saw Tucker and Brown in Texas City driving a 2007 Pontiac G-6.

Deputies said Tucker was driving the car, and he did not have a driver’s license.

Authorities followed the car and tried to stop the teens at I-45 and Holland Road, but Tucker continued driving, according to deputies. They said Brown moved to the driver’s seat while Tucker climbed into the backseat and sped up.

The chase lasted for about 20 miles and reached speeds up to 115 mph with Brown swerving and almost striking several patrol cars, deputies said. The chase ended at 37th Street and FM 1266 in Dickinson when the car crashed into a ditch and flipped over.

Brown got out of the car, and Tucker and a 17-year-old female were arrested. Tucker complained of injuries and was taken to the hospital. The female teen was released at the scene and was not charged.

Tucker was transferred to the Galveston County Jail. He and Brown were charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and remain in jail on a $100,000 bond each.
