How is Amazon rooting out fake goods?

Amazon has fought a long battle with counterfeiters selling everything from fake Nikes to knock-off high end handbags.

When you buy a brand name online, you expect to get the real deal!

But how can you be sure you're getting what you pay for?

Let's Connect the Dots.

Amazon has fought a long battle with counterfeiters selling everything from fake Nikes to knock-off high end handbags.

Till now, Amazon relied on brands flagging counterfeit goods, a process that would lead to an investigation, and only then could a fake product get pulled from the marketplace.

Now, the retail giant is launching a self-service tool called Project Zero that lets brands flag and pull fake goods in one fell swoop!

Amazon says those removals will also feed online algorithms that help spot and pull other fake items on their own.

But don't expect a complete end to the counterfeiting craze.

Amazon is only making the tools available to a select group of brands to start.
