HOUSTON — Portillo’s, a fast-casual restaurant known for its Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, will officially open its first Houston-area location on Tuesday.
The new location is at The Grand at Aliana on the West Grand Parkway in the Richmond area. This is the chain’s seventh Texas location.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a grand opening event at 10 a.m. Michael Portillo, vice president of restaurant support for Portillo’s, will present a check to the Mamie George Community Center, the restaurant's charity partner, during the ceremony.
The 7,700-square-foot restaurant features a Southwest garage theme with seating for 170 guests inside and an outdoor patio that accommodates nearly 50 guests.
It also includes double drive-thru lanes and the brand's Kitchen 23 design, which offers self-serve beverages, a grab-and-go retail area, and an efficient kitchen layout.
Portillo’s signature menu items will be available, including Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, crinkle-cut French fries, and their famous chocolate cake.
Customers can sign up for Portillo’s Birthday Club to stay updated on company news and receive a free slice of homemade chocolate cake on their birthday.
There are plans to open at least three more locations in the Houston area with one on FM 1960, one on Westside Parkway in Katy, and another on the Southwest Freeway in Stafford.
