HOUSTON — Can you finish a quarter-pound burger in under 7 minutes? Yeah, probably. But what if it’s the ‘hottest burger in Texas,’ a burger so hot that you actually have to sign a waiver before eating it?!
That’s the challenge iron-stomach eaters are taking on at the Little Bitty Burger Barn in Houston. And we were there with them Thursday when they took the burger on.
According to the challenge, the burgers are topped with “grilled jalapeños, grilled habaneros, pepper-jack cheese, and Nitro sauce (advertised as 10,000,000 Scoville units); and served on a jalapeno and cheddar-infused bun. The Nitro sauce has arbol peppers, diced dry chilies, crushed red pepper, garlic salt, cayenne pepper, jalapeno salt, liquid capsaicin, five bottles of hot sauces (including a ghost chili sauce and a habanero concentrate), and fresh habaneros.”
It's so spicy that even our photographer started coughing when he got too close!
During the challenge on Thursday, one of the participants had to walk away from the table.
