Splendora families ask for help finding beloved Goldendoodles

"It’s just odd ... 10 minutes they’re gone, (and then) our other dog shows up on the porch crying. I know something happened."

SPLENDORA, Texas — Two Splendora families are asking for help finding their two Goldendoodles.

"This is Cabo, she’s a 1-year-old Goldendoodle. We’ve had her since she was 11 weeks old," Tammy Bucchino said.

For the last year, Cabo’s neighborhood running mate has been Lucy, another Goldendoodle owned by Tania and Alex Cruz.

"I mean, they’re always together, always come back together," Cruz said.

"They would let (Lucy) out. They would run and play. They’d come up on the porch at my house or come over here and they would play in the backyard," Bucchino said.

It's why their final moments, caught on security camera video, caught both neighbors by surprise Monday night.

"It looked like somebody was calling them up front," Cruz said.

Both dogs, along with another one of the Cruz family's dogs, could be seen darting to the front yard.

"It’s just odd ... 10 minutes they’re gone, (and then) our other dog shows up on the porch crying. I know something happened," Cruz said.

The incident is leaving many wondering how something like this could ever happen.

"All the neighbors drive by today and say have you found her have you found her? Everybody that you ask in our neighborhood knew who Cabo and Lucy was," Bucchino said.

Fearing the worst, they searched a nearby creek where they said dogs had been hit by cars.

"In trash bags are dead dogs, but not ours," Bucchino said.

"If anybody has her, please, please return her back to Splendora," Cruz said.

"We all miss her. We need our puppy. We need our puppy back," Bucchino said.

The families are offering a $1,000 reward for the safe return of Lucy and Cabo

If you see them, or know where they are, call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
