Harris County deputy constable rescues great egret tangled up in fishing line

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said Sgt. Lindley took the time to help out a great egret in need at Cypress Creek Park.

SPRING, Texas — Law enforcement officers are tasked with a lot of things in the line of duty, and apparently that includes rescuing birds!

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said Sgt. Lindley took the time to help out a great egret in need at Cypress Creek Park in Spring. The bird was tangled up in some fishing line and Sgt. Lindley helped it get free and back into the wild.

The constable's office posted about the rescue on Facebook, where commenters commended the deputy constable's actions.

"Thank you for helping this baby. So beautiful," one comment read.

"Serving and protecting all who live here!!" another read.
