This chef was tipped $3,000

Chef Rafael Galindo shares his story about how his services garnered him a $3,000 tip and gives us a taste of his delicious Honduran food.

HOUSTON - On Friday, October 5, Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan spoke to chef and owner Rafael Galindo’s of Cafe Red Onion. Galindo arrived in America at the age of 18, unable speak any English, he taught himself at night by watching television reruns. After learning English, he got a job as a chef's helper. Soon, Galindo had a more ambitious goal: his own restaurant.

Today, his restaurant, Cafe Red Onion, is known for its delicious Honduran food. Galindo chats with Deborah on perseverance in the food industry and how good service, and a random act of kindness gained him a $3,000 tip from one couple.
