Many kids get first-hand experience to music in schools. The CMA Foundation is committed to giving kids an opportunity to participate in music education across the nation and right here in Houston. It has invested $21 million in over 85 programs in the U.S.
In 2017, the CMA Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation gave HISD $1 million in music education support, instruments and resources.
Now through Monday, September 24, 2018, the CMA Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation are collecting gently used musical instruments in Houston. Collected instruments will be cleaned, repaired, and donated to Houston school music programs.
