Designer Lela Orr shares her experience on "Project Runway"

Fashion designer, Lela Orr, creates eco-luxury designs with zero waste

HOUSTON — Fashion designer, Lela Orr, has loved fashion ever since she was a little girl and got a lot of inspiration from her grandmother, who used to share an amazing collection of International Vogue with her.  This helped Orr realize fashion was more than clothes, it was wearable art.

After graduating from Parsons School of design, she debuted her graduate collection at Fashion X Dallas.  That event was so successful, Orr moved to Dallas and has made it her home.

Orr recently competed on "Project Runway" and she loved the experience and said it made her a better designer.

Orr's fashion brand Ferrah is an eco-luxury brand that focuses on zero waste. The fashion industry is the second largest polluting industry, so she reimplements scraps in accessories or makes new textiles so nothing is thrown out.

"Project Runway" airs Thursday nights on Bravo and is available on demand.
