Here are the Houston connections to watch for on the Grammys | Live on KHOU 11 at 7 p.m.

Tonight, the music industry celebrates its brightest starts. Some of them are from Houston.

HOUSTON — It's that time again! The Grammy Awards celebrate the biggest accomplishments in the music world and the brightest stars behind those sounds.

Every year, the City of Houston is well-represented in the Grammys and this year is no exception. As you're watching the Grammy Awards on KHOU 11 at 7 p.m., below are some of the Houston connections to watch for. 

On KHOU 11 News after the Grammy Awards, catch Mia Gradney's conversation with some of Houston's rap legends.  You can see a preview in the video window above, which was recorded earlier in the week.

Uncle Jumbo

Houston's Uncle Jumbo is looking for his first Grammy win. He's nominated for Best Children's Music Album for Taste in the SkyHere's the story KHOU 11's Ron Treviño did with Uncle Jumbo that aired last week ahead of the Grammy Awards.

Rodney Crowell

Rodney Crowell, a two-time Grammy winner, is from Houston's Third Ward. He's up for Best American Album for The Chicago Sessions. KHOU 11's Ron Treviño caught up with him ahead of this year's Grammy Awards.

Robert Glasper

Robert  Glasper is up for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for Back to Love. For his career, Glasper has 14 nominations and five Grammy wins. Before the Grammys last year, we profiled Glasper. You can read more about this Houston musical star here

Travis Scott

Houston rapper Travis Scott is looking for his first Grammy Award. He's been nominated ten times.  This year, he's up for Best Rap Album with Utopia

LeCrae

LeCrae was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for Your Power and Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Church Clothes. He took home a Grammy in both categories! 

LeCrae now has four Grammys.

Rice University's Shepherd School of Music

Rice University will also be well-represented at the Grammy Awards. There are six graduates of the school's Shepherd School of Music up for Grammy Awards!  Shern-Min Chow profiled the program ahead of the Grammy Awards this year.
