WACO, TX – The Magnolia Market, a small town home décor boutique in downtown Waco, officially held its grand opening #Silobration on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 with thousands of fans in attendance from all over the country including Texas, California, Kansas, New York and New Jersey.
The former Magnolia Market boutique, which was located on Bosque Boulevard, has now closed.
Co-owners Chip and Joanna Gaines recently renovated a 4,000-square-foot retail market that is a treasure trove filled with household items and accessories hand selected by Joanna. Throughout the grand opening celebration, visitors quickly identified accessories throughout the shop featured on past "Fixer Upper" shows, and conversations among shoppers were abundant.
Live entertainment was headlined by JOHNNYSWIM, the Los Angeles based husband-and-wife duo of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano. The highlight of the evening was when Chip Gaines made an unexpected arrival to the party by scaling down the side of the Silo while Joanna Gaines quipped lovingly to her husband, "get down here now, Chip."
There are plans in 2016 for the Waco complex to include a showroom for Joanna Gaines' new 350-plus piece furniture line to be manufactured in North Carolina. On everyone's mind is what will happen with the grand silos. Plans for the old grain silos will be announced at a later date as the Gaines' continue developing the corner complex in downtown Waco. The Magnolia Market complex is being designed to be a family gathering destination for visitors from near and far and will serve as host to events.
Chip and Joanna Gaines met soon after they both graduated from Baylor University when she was working in her dad's tire store in Waco, and the rest is history.
The two quickly shot to fame as the hosts of HGTV's "Fixer Upper" home improvement television show which debuted in 2013. Fans adore this charming southern husband-and-wife duo who transform and style homes into inspiring places throughout the Waco area. Chip is the construction and real estate lead while Joanna is the lead designer with a keen eye for shabby chic.
Together, Chip and Joanna have four children who are often seen on "Fixer Upper." They are also the owners of Magnolia Homes with agents in Austin, Houston and Dallas.
Season three of "Fixer Upper" debuts Dec. 1, 2015 at 8 p.m. CST on HGTV.
