Theatre Under the Stars will continue to host 'OUT@TUTS' despite announcement saying event was canceled

TUTS released a message on its Instagram Tuesday saying it previously announced "misinformation" and apologized for the confusion.

HOUSTON — Theatre Under the Stars will continue hosting its popular "OUT@TUTS" program despite an announcement that said the event was canceled.

On Monday, the theater posted to Instagram saying the after-show event for its LGBTQ patrons was canceled for the rest of the season due to a lack of resources, but on Tuesday TUTS released a message saying that was "misinformation" and apologized for the confusion.

"Yesterday, you may have seen a message from us indicating the cancelation of one of our favorite programs. We regret this message was sent on our behalf due in large part to the misinformation included. We want to apologize if that message you received caused you any concern, or confusion. While it is true that we are looking at ways to better enhance how we support our patron programs, creating a more entertaining and engaging experience, it is not intended that these programs would be canceled. We look forward to providing you with the correct information on this (as well as other programs) as they evolve," the message on Instagram read.

TUTS said it looks forward to welcoming guests to "The Cher Show" happening on Thursday and the "Disney's Newsies" show happening on Thursday, May 30.
